About the topic

Come hear about the latest science on volcanoes. Alex will start with a brief tour of the volcanoes of Iceland, including the record-breaking eruption that started in August, and move on to other hot spots of activity around the world. We'll reminisce about Mount St Helens, gather travel stories from anyone who's visited the active volcano in Hawaii, and maybe even talk about Colorado's volcanic past. We'll discuss the latest in volcanic science, including how to monitor and predict eruptions and what the greatest hazards really are, and finish up by talking about what role volcanoes play in past and modern-day climate change.
